To anyone who follows Arc System Works, Daisuke Ishiwatari got back the rights to Guilty Gear a while ago. Thus, Guilty Gear Xrd has been out in Japanese arcades for some time, and console versions will be coming in a few days.

Naturally, this being one of my fave series from a while back, I got inspired. Again.

I've done up plans for a Children's Saga beat-em-up/hack-&-slash before, now comes the Fighting Game. And I already have an original story done up for it.

Most likely non-canon, though... *cough* >.>

Timeline - Sometime between Odyssey and Gemini.

Story/Excuse Plot - A rogue god by the name of Phobetor sees all beings created by Cruatia as abominations that disrupt the natural order of the Universe. Unfortunately, this includes by extension, Lark and Kalia. Phobetor tampers with the Focal Point of Time hoping to erase them all from existence, but his attempts backfire. His tampering opens gates throughout the Universe to discarded timelines, where villains like Rasha and Daere succeeded in defeating the heroes, and naturally, they invade. Of course, Phobetor being a god, he doesn't learn his lesson and KEEPS TRYING. It's up to the heroes and a mysterious wanderer from one of the discarded timelines to try and set things right.

You know, I have an alpha of Guilty Gear Isuka. I don't think I've played it three times. I was always more of a Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Soul Calibur, or Marvel vs Capcom kind of guy.

Hmmm, going to have to investigate this series. Though I'm mostly an RPG girl, I have a soft spot for the fighting games after playing them with my brothers and cousin growing up.

Lark, I think we just need to get you your own gaming company so we can play these one day.

Well, a lot of the game (especially the music) is inspired by heavy metal, Ishiwatari himself being a MAJOR fan of Queen, and even how magic in the setting works is based heavily on music theory.

Not sure if heavy metal's your thing though.
