I know 6 months isn't exactly a year, but I have finally managed to get my hands on a PS4. For the first time since the SNES, I am NOT 2-3 years behind the gaming scene, which is kinda why I got mine now... >.>
Unfortunately.....
I had not done the proper research. The PS4 does not support SD TVs without an adaptor. It is only HDMI compatible.
I need to get an HD TV before I can use the damn thing... >_<

Doh! Adaptor is cheaper than the TV though!
I don't think being 6 months after launch is behind the curve though. Still not many titles out yet, and at least for me, nothing must have has is on the way.

Still not many titles out yet, and at least for me, nothing must have has is on the way. I'm still 4 months out from aquiring mine, because it doesn't matter til DA3 is available. Of course games are not the only thing I will use it for. Since my PS3 my console really is my media center. I use it more for watching TV shows and movies than playing games these days. My PS3 will simply get moved to another room/screen with the PS4 taking its place. Hell, it will probably move in here with my computer since my tower does not have a blu ray player. This new monitor has a direct HDMI slot/channel so I can plug my PS3 right into it. Bottom line for me is that my console is not so much about the games anymore. Yeah, I want a good library, and I still believe that a Sony console offers me the best line up in the long run. But I also want the extra stuff it gives me, now, which I think are better than Microsoft both in ability and quality. Because as a friend of mine likes to say about how Xbox basically catalogues everything you do now: "Xbox...now keeping track of your poops."

I'm still 5 game launches behind the curve. I wait until there are 5 games I want to play, before picking up a system. MLB the Show is the only one currently I'd consider possibly being one of them, and even that I can pick up on PS3.

(Laughs) The two newest systems I own are the DS and PS2. But I don't mind, as I'm normally many years behind the curve.

Bah, who needs newer systems anyway when you've got all those Angelique games to wade through, right, Solana?

Oh, yes, and I'll always remember who I have to thank for starting me on that awesome series. Thank you again. (Bows) Why do you think that in the first chapter of my story, Solana was wearing a sash held with a cord? That was straight from Lumiale's costume in the anime. I'm still not sure what was funnier in Tenkuu No Requiem- busting out Julious or busting out Zephel. Even Julious's sprite looked pissed off, but the 'bombing the wrong direction in the jail cell' gag never gets old. (Especially when a tiger then comes out of freaking nowhere.)

Of course Julious is ticked off... He's an avid espresso drinker, if I'm remembering properly. He probably went into caffeine withdrawl. Those guards just don't believe in having coffee rations along with the important, but unpleasant, combo of bread and water. There's no possible way (ha, ha) that it could have anything to with his manly pride as a Guardian of Light, right? ...Nah. Hey, Occam. Put down that razor before you hurt someone! Edit: I just couldn't help myself...

It was all about the coffee. Although even a caffeinated Julious is scary enough. The guards are just lucky they threw Luva in there with him instead of Clavis. That comic was full of all kinds of win, and just what I needed after a long day. Thank you. No wonder I've been wanting to dye my hair a funky color again... (And you know we love you just as you are. )

Not to make you drool (or kick yourself as the case may be), but a friend just told me that for playstation plus members (or whatever they're calling their new service) certain Bravia smart TVs can get an app that works with the ps4 controller and will allow you to stream some PS3 and 4 games without use of the actual system.
