The expansion pack for Borderlands; Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is actually pretty good. The otherwise dusty and green-less frontier scenery of the main game has been replaced with heavy and damp jungle areas, quite fitting for a zombie... well, "movie". And the music that I've heard so far really sets the mood too. I have only visited the first area as of yet, too, so I'm looking forward to seeing what else this pack has to offer.
Also, for those of you with 360's and LiveArcade; the remake to the first Monkey Island game was offered for half the price in the "countdown to the new year" thing on Xbox Live, so if you're a fan of the game but for some reason haven't gotten it yet, now's the time.

Got myself a PSP ver. 3000. Had a memory stick already inside. Got Crisis Core (sorry Anon) and Star Ocean 1, and pre-ordered the LE of Lunar: SSH. All in all, I made out like a bandit. Continuing with Crisis Core first.

As soon as I finish this playthrough of Growlanser V, I'll be moving on to... Persona 3 Portable. I decided I couldn't wait until if/when it came out over here to get my teeth into it.

I returned to playing Tales of Vesperia just today, so here's hoping I can stick with this game all the way through this time.

So, got the PS3 for X-mas.
After the X-mas gifts and buying my own, here is the current lineup.
NCAA Football 2009: Looks good, but no create a team ruined it for me. What's the point of playing if I can't reform the Copper Harbor Warriors?
NHL 2008: Currently the Detroit Red Wings are in first in the west. God I wish this was true in Real Life. Sigh.
Disgaea 3: Haven't really gotten into this one yet, but plan on it soon. Mao sounds like a decent main character so far, but he's no Adell or Laharl so far.
Soul Caliber 4: This game is beautiful. Seriously easy on the eyes. Haven't unlocked most of the characters yet.
Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2: Holy crap, I love this game. Flying around in the Wing Gundam Zero... damn. Blasting people with my DRAGOON'S with the Strike Freedom... damn. The fact that I haven't used most of the Gundams in the game yet... yeah.
Sleep is for the weak!

Not everyone, Lark, there's no PS3 at my place. Which is fine, since there are plenty of other games to keep busy with lately. Hmmmm.... what would people think of using one of the TVs at Gamercon for ourselves for an in-Shrine tournament? Certainly the incredible Soul Calibur IV must be on the list, (and we'd have to decide whether to use custom or issued versions of characters), and whatever games anyone else wants to do. It could be fun to have a live Tournament of Heroes, although doing fireworks could be a little difficult. I put a DS on my Christmas list specifically for the copy of Dragon Quest IV that came in two months ago and was sitting in my stash cube at work. So far, I'm in chapter two and absolutely loving it. ;D I'm so happy when they do remixes of the original music, and am hoping that the sisters' battle theme will be there, too. The portraits are fun, and I'm VERY glad that the punster priest had a new one in chapter two. The accents are interesting, though my inner editor is screaming at the improper verb tenses for chapter two so far. The one bummer is the name changes. Every time I see 'Kiryl' or 'Borya' it feels wrong, as I keep expecting 'Christo' and 'Brey', and it'll probably be the same with 'Torneko' and the sisters. Ah, well, it'll be a small price to pay for the new chapter six, and I'm also looking forward to playing chapter five with my own name in for a lady protagonist. ;D

Having said that, for me at least once I beat the game it was totally out of my system. Once I got the complete it basically lost all replay value for me. Great and fun, but it was only good enough for one play through for me.

Gah! My Xbox360 chose to start acting funky today. (As in freezing completely after a minute or so, regardless of which game I played.) No red rings of any sort and no indication of what it could be, other than it's not overheating or anything like that. It's an Elite model, and it wasn't particularly warm anywhere either, so whatever it is, it's not that. I'll call in tomorrow to see what I have to do to get it fixed, so for a while, I guess I won't be playing any Borderlands or Tales of Vesperia.
I guess Etrian Odyssey 2 will keep me busy for a while, though. I just got my first Beast on the team. I actually thought it would be a BeastMAN, but much to my surprise, they're basically full animals. I chose a wolf, named him Skoll and set out to get him some decent levels and equipment before I dare put him up front.

I don't have a PS3 either (it's going to be a while before I can afford any console of that generation, and not worth it until I've run out of unplayed PSX and PS2 games).
I did end up starting Wild ARMS 4. Currently in Gara de Leon, and wondering just how much Super Mario the game designers were playing as they worked on it--they kind of went overboard with the platformer elements.

Persona 3 Portable is going well. Very well, indeed. The new music for the female choice of protagonist is pretty nice as is the new opening animation. Some people may complain about the number of anime cutscenes being cut down, but I think they're managing to carry it off pretty well with a combo of CG and stills. The new characters for the female path that I've seen so far (along with the portraits for existing characters that weren't in the original) are good... though I have to admit that, if I didn't know better, I would have thought the math teacher was a guy. Equipping has been streamlined (you no longer have to directly talk to a character to change their equipment), but there is only one weapon choice for the main now. A naginata style weapon for the female, 1 hand sword for the male. However, the specialized equipment pictures for certain armors and weapons (like the high cut bikini, etc.) are still pictured in battle. Flow of battle keeps up with the original and has incorporated some of the P4 improvements such as allowing control of all your party members (not that I use that option anyway). My one little 'fix it Atlus' comment has to be... don't you think, maybe, instead of calling the starter persona for the female 'Orpheus female version', that it should be... ::cough:: Eurydice instead? Just a thought. By the way, I just picked up a very interesting item in game. It's a hockey stick for the female main. I made a joke about it right before I used it on an enemy about 'fear the hockey stick' only to find out that it has a chance of creating a panic status effect. Seriously. I'm almost going to hate giving it up for a better weapon when the time comes.

More P3P info:
You know all those annoying 'do this combo tech' with these two Personae quests from the Fes version? They aren't in this one. Which makes me very, very happy. They made the combo techs into items instead which you can sometimes get as quest rewards, trade gems for in one of the shops, etc.
Another interesting addition: Skill cards. You can now get cards with skills that, when used, will put that skill on the persona that you desire. So, if you have the right card (gotten via the same method as the combo techs), you don't have to work as hard for some of the 'get this persona with that tech' quests.
I would have thought that you had to be the same social link as your persona, but... apparently not. Akihiko is the Star social link in the female path. Like Mitsuru with her Academic requirement, Akihiko has a Charm requirement. You have to be lvl 4. Even if you don't have that requirement, that doesn't stop certain amusing things from happening, though.
You know the Full Moon event that happens on Shirakawa Blvd.? It appears that Akihiko is the favored pairing with our female main. I ended up doing this event multiple times because I screwed up the 'answer the teacher' question the following day. So I'm quite certain, having tried it originally with Akihiko being the the only male in the party, then later with both Akihiko and Junpei in the party.
He is also the only option (other than Yukari) for the sneak into the school event on the female path and, if I'm reading the implications right, when Junpei messes with Akihiko during the Yakushima beach events, guess whose bathing attire he prefers?
Other stuff I noticed so far:
Well, you've got a choice for who you want for the Velvet Room attendant. Either Elizabeth (the original one) or her younger brother, Theodore. So far, the 'show them around' events appear to be fairly similar, aside from the language used.
Whereas the male athletic club link has a choice between kendo, swimming, and track, the female athletic club choices are just two: volleyball and tennis. An event has also been added in conjunction with the team competition (not sure if this applies to both male and female versions) that takes the team to Inaba (yes, the one you spend P4 in) and you get to see a Jr. High version of Yukiko and spend a night in her family's inn.
There are also cameos during female social link events from the male side, including the male Magician (Junpei is the female Magician link) and the two characters from the male athletic club.
The female Hermit SL is not found through playing on the computer all day. Instead, it's picked up automatically via what appears to be part time help in the school's medical office (available on Tuesdays and Thursdays).
I think I accidentally missed the culture club link time (unless the female path doesn't have it, but I don't see why not). ^^; Oh, well. If the stats carry over on the next play through like they do in the original and FES, I'll get it then.
Oh yes. And, for some weird reason, you cannot randomly restore your status to normal or great by going to the bathroom in the female version. Not that it's that much of a problem. Because sometimes, shopping at the jewelry store (costs money and time) puts her status back up. Also, the first time I went there, it gave me a boost to Academic and Charm. ...Does that mean she's an impulse buyer/shopaholic? ^^;
Which reminds me of another change. You buy all your accessories at the police station now along with the weapons (at least in the female version).
Also, a missing persons/pets board has been added in the mall (the first time it happens, Theo or Elizabeth will give you a call). People and pets will get lost in Tartarus at various points and rescuing them nets you rewards that can be collected at the police station. If you go into the Velvet Room beforehand, Elizabeth/Theo will tell you what range of floors to look in (Fuuka will give a message on the exact floor when she senses someone), but if more than one person/pet goes missing at once, you'll only get the range for one of them. Sometimes, the TV also gives hints about when someone is reported missing (guess it's a newsflash or something).
Currently, I'm only up to August in the game (just got Koromaru), so there's probably plenty more to discover.
Edit: Oh yeah. I forgot to add on the Skill Cards that you can also get one from each Persona as you grow it. The card it gives is within its natural talent pool (you can't get Megido from Jack Frost or something).

Smackdown .vs. Raw 2010 for the PS3...
As I have said in other posts...it's awesome. Right now I've got it all the way on Legend difficulty level so it's challenging for me now that my created wrestlers are getting up there in levels and stats. I'm in a pattern right now of play then create. Got about 5 heroes (three superstars and two divas) done and one heel.
Everyone has custom entrance themes I've done, and I've been able to transfer mp3s to my PS3 and upload them into the game as entrance music. Everyone also has their own finishing moves...which is just so cool.
Still playing Dragon Age as well, but that has taken a backseat to New Game Syndrome with WWE.
So anyone with a PS3 who's into it, let me know if and when you get the game so we can trade created characters. Those of you who make your own I will gladly delete the versions of you I've made so far for what would obviously be true customized ones from you...and you can have my Roas, Ninya...and my Rasha (he's a beast).
Then we can kick each other's asses.

One of my friends lent me his Xbox, so I attached my harddrive to it, and now I'm playing Serious Sam HD, which is exactly the way I like my FPS games.
I also picked up Mushihime-sama Futari, a bullet hell shooter from Cave, and a damn good one at that.
