All seems quiet at the motel. Out of the corner of the eye of anyone passing by, the Shrine's resident chicken peeks her head into the hallway. On her back is something blue... and squishy... and... smiling? Giblet and her new slime friend head back into Lark's room. The theme music of Dragon Quest VIII can be heard... (Yep, going back and replaying it. Are there any old games you guys are replaying right now? Just saw the bar brawl again. )

I don't know about others, but I have been busy with . . . stuff. Still I have found time to go back and play Breath of Fire III again. I finally have a copy again. I just took out Palet.

I really haven't been playing as much, either. Real life and all that. I'm trying to make a little time for my two most recent imports, though. The PSP version of Harukanaru Toki no Nakade 3, and the newest, following game in the series on PS2. I've only dabbled with no. 4 so far (just to make sure it works), because even though it isn't about the same characters, I feel... weird not completing no. 3 first. Boy, does it have some gorgeous character designs, though.

Outside of Let's Playing Lunar TSS, I'm also heavily invested in Sacred 2. It actually made me put not only Oblivion, but also Tales of Vesperia on the backburner for a while.

For about an hour/hour and a half each day for the past few weeks I was playing RoTK 10. Now that I'm past my GRE and into the application phase my mind has less weight on it (good news for CoD), so I'm playing that for longer stints.
I'm actually leaning towards starting up SSSC again cuz a friend of mine is about to start playing it, and the series, for the first time (As he starts playing I get to tell him what's different between the games).

Congrats on making it through the test, Roas! I've been pretty busy.... resting. Damn fibro has been flaring up, which means lots of extra couch and bedtime, but I popped in my perennial favorite Ecco the Dolphin for a pick-me-up. I've been planning on jumping in Lunar Legend if a trip works out, and also trying Tales of Vesperia finally. Even been getting a hankering to toss in the Megaman Anniversary Collection for some old school goodness.

I was working my way through Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, but at the moment, GearHead (cf. gearheadrpg.com) seems to be eating all my time once again.

Another quiet day at the motel... However... Zero: Why couldn't it have been a Liquid Metal King...? Apparently taking up most of the hallway is a King Slime. Schala: Lark, have you seen Giblet? Suddenly, movement can be seen around the bottom of the slime. Wiggling out from under the large blue mass is Giblet. Shaking her feathers as if having a giant slime on top of her didn't faze her, the chicken moves on her merry way. Giblet: *clucks* Lark: *Just finished DQVIII. Wonder what else I might get back to...?*

Alright. Started on Dark Cloud 2 again. And here is where I reluctantly admit after playing DQVIII and DC2 back to back... Level 5, as good as game makers as they are... they kind of suck at story telling. They're better at working with other companies than on their own. (Still hangs head in shame after telling Roas that Rogue Galaxy was one of the best games I ever played...)

(Still hangs head in shame after telling Roas that Rogue Galaxy was one of the best games I ever played...) That game was indeed full of fail: - very very very easy...literally no challenge except for one moment at the final boss where if you slip up you have to restart the whole damn endgame fight. - the whole weapon creation system flawed when one of the Seven Swords ends up being more powerful than the rest...and you can get it before the last couple - one of the dumbest post game unlocks to do a dungeon that doesn't mean crap in terms of gear and endgame...since you get nothing new and the final weapon is stronger than anything. - there was no galaxy in Rogue Galaxy...five planets makes not a galaxy

Okay, so I'm at the end of SSSC, reaching the Fortress in 23 hours 33 mins. Average level is 45. So....time to pack on 40 more levels!!! Buahahahaha! I originally beat the game with Alex at 85 and it was awesome...course at the time I thought Ghaleon would still scale...but little did we all know back then that he stopped at 60 Still...I'm gonna break this thing wide open, then move on to EBC. On a side note, while replaying a friend of mine has indeed been playing it for the first time ever, and I've been informing him of the differences in the versions as he's gone along. Having reached the end again, myself, I still hold that overall I am still displeased with some of the major changes to SSSC from TSS: - Ghaleon's motivations way better in TSS - Althena's whole rebirth reasons better in TSS, as well as Dyne's "death". - Vane .vs. Grindary very cool in SSSC - Dragon Magic blows in SSSC....Offensive Dragon Magic in TSS FTW!!! - Nash way more of a tool in his betrayal in SSSC rather than his cool double agent moment in TSS - Alex losing all his powers at the end...that's just lame...the guy just became Dragonmaster...he's got another 50 years of adventuring abd world saving left in him before he'd be forced to take it easy!!! Those were and still are my major sticking points as to why overall SSSC can't be proclaimed superior to TSS. It's a great remake...but there are some very real qualities that still keep TSS awesome. That's one of the reasons I like EBC so much is because it's still the same game with the exception of a couple of cut scenes...and the whole Old Luna thing...that's the one thing I do hate about EBC. Old Luna was stupid. Anywho...onward with Power Leveling!!!!!

Just got Mana Khemia 2 a couple of hours ago. Reika: Oh my. Schala: What is it? Reika: I just thumbed through the instruction booklet. Let's just say Lark is probably gonna like Et. Schala: Why say... oh my. Reika: I'd say those are about as big as Miira's. Schala: *sweatdrop* Returning characters I see so far are Flay (as awesome as ever), Tony (apparently as obnoxious as ever), and Zeppel (even more of a whiny punk than before). Seems area travel and character movement speed has been streamlined. That's definitely a plus. Raze's name is pronounced R-ay-ze instead of R-ah-ze. Dissapointing. Schala: Yeah, but now he doesn't have to worry about Batman jokes on the Gamefaqs message boards. Lark: Part of the reason why it's dissapointing. Reika: Oy vey... As for the new characters, Raze is alright. Lewenthall's always a plus. Ulrika's definately got a 'Kid' vibe going for her, but not too thrilled about the southern drawl. Chloe looks almost like a shoe-in for Ambrienne... if she ever became obnoxious. Etward.... Reika: .... <_< Schala: ..... >_> Reika: Would you like a bib, Lark? *shakes head* Sorry folks, little sidetracked. ^_^; Looks to be pretty solid, though the opening kinda leaves a bit to be desired. Schala: For those who don't know, that's code for 'The first game's opening was better'. Reika: Not to mention the game seems pretty slow to pick up so far. But Lark only just finished the first assignment, so that might be given a bit of leeway. Well, time to give this more of a go. I'll see you guys in a few months.

I'm also playing MK2, though, from the sound of it, you're taking Raze's path, right Lark? Well, I'm taking Ulrika's... and playing with the Japanese voices.
...As for me being anything like Chloe, I probably would think some of the things she does if I were stuck with Ulrika. Ulrika's careless attitude makes me wish ally kills were permissible, using Chloe's special book attack to do it.
I don't even want to contemplate too closely my ::coughI'mbeing verysarcasticherecough:: new lovely fairy pal Pepperoni/Pepperocini. Flay's response upon first seeing him, though, is almost worth it.
Lest what I've said already indicate otherwise, I am enjoying the game so far. I just wish the trampolines were a bit less finicky with the button press timing.

Well, busted Chapter 2. I think you're supposed to get a B in that second class if it's your first time playing. Tutorial rules and all that, though I still wish I got that extra day of Free Time. >_< Oh, and fair warning. Lily... is kind of a freak. Two words: Puni fetish. Poor Puni Jiro... or was it Keichi? But I have to say... JYB (the unofficial voice hopeful of Lark) as Puni Taro.... I am at a loss... Puni-yo is freaking adorable, though. *tears up*
