So far Fire Emblem Fates is looking like my favorite title of E3. I loved Shining Force on the Genesis and Fire Emblem is the closest thing, with each unit being a specific character.
And I love the idea of choosing to fight for either the country (and family) that raised you or the country (and family) you were born in. The designers probably weren't thinking that way, but it's a classic dilemma faced on a lesser scale by the children of immigrants and which culture they belong to.
I just wish one of the kingdom's leaders didn't look so obviously a bad guy, but I assume the player avatar's siblings are all right. It probably would be better narratively if the player didn't make their choice about which kingdom to side with until the decision point in game either, instead of making the choice of which storyline to buy when they select the physical release, but I guess there are limitations of size and scope when working on a cart game.
I'm tentatively planning to pick up the Nohr storyline because I figure my avatar will fight for the country that raised her (assuming they aren't all a bunch of dirtbags) rather than the strange one she doesn't remember.
