Thing is I'll be hitting japan quite soon, and I don't know if I should buy a PS4 over there. Well, the whole point is I dont know if I should get a PS4 at all, but since it's like 4 times cheaper to get one there than over here (hilarious import duties, thank you very much).
I still havent really play THAT many games with my PS3, so it still has a couple of years of useful life before I get bored, and I guess there are not many RPGs out for PS4, so I could definitely wait a little bit longer to buy one.
So I want to know if there's anything good out there to play already. Something other than Silent Hills P.T (RIP). or the upcoming FFVII SUPER SPECIAL AWESOME REMAKE THAT LOOKS LIKE CRISIS CORE A LOT.
Like, does anyone around here have a PS4 and can tell that they getting the most out of it?

I don't have a PS4, and probably won't until Persona 5 comes out, but the friends that have them like Fallout 4, Bloodborne, Metal Gear Sold V, and Destiny. None of them are really my bag though, which is why I'm waiting before buying one.
In addition to Persona 5 I'm eventually looking foward to Bloodstained (the Kogi Igarashi successor to Castlevania, which I helped Kickstart) and Danganronpa 3 (now sure whether I'll want this one on Vita or PS4). There will probably be something else eventually, but most of my gaming life these days involves picking up visual novels when they're on sale and Shin Megami Tensei games (maybe on pre-order, maybe later depending on sub-series).

So as a gamer and game salesman, here is what I tell people who ask that at work. Buy the system for the games, not the games for the system. In other words, pick out the games you want to play and then get the system for them. Since Playstation one, I have waited until there were 5 games on a system before I picked it up, the only exception being DS because Lunar came out on it (despite the game I still don't regret picking it up). PS4, Xbox One, WiiU, and all of the current handhelds still doesn't have games I want to play on them. 3DS is close, but it still only has, only like four at my last count. PS4 only has 1 game that looks that great and that I can't get on a current system, and that is Bloodborne, but I like a good, hard, third person, hack and slash. Another thing to think about are the things like region codes, power type, and whether or not you speak Japanese. Personally I don't. I know I haven't solved your question, but hopefully I helped narrow down what to look at.

k, so I don't have that many games on my PS4, but I use it for many many things. It's my multi media center. I watch TV shows on it (especially since it got the free media player app now), I rent movies over the PSN (because I don't go to the movies...I wait cuz it's cheaper and cleaner), it's my primary Blu ray player, and I play games. So for me, it's not just about the games. So if you like to do all those things, then yeah, go for it.
Now....aside from the price advantage you mention, remember that Japan gets all kinds of special PS4s with custom cases associated with popular games, so if you are into something like that you might as well wait til you get there.

There's usually one reason why I buy any gaming hardware: it has games I want to play. With the PS4, I was interested in trying FF XIV as well as some other games, the upcoming Shadow of the Beast remake/reboot/whatever in particular. So far, I've picked up quite a few games for it, so I certainly don't regret the purchase in the slightest. And I'm also streaming Crunchyroll on it.
But yes, I agree with the "you should only buy it if you're interested in any of the games for it" sentiment.

Well... I did my research, and a PS4 from Japan will work just fine around here. So...
If it's considerably cheap over there, and I have any room left in my luggage among the pletora of newly acquired merchandising and clothing, and I'm not broke by the end of my trip, I'll buy it.
But I wont go out my way to get it =P
