It's a slow day at work. My other head cashier and I were up at the front registers, trying to find tasks to do. OHC- (talking about the newest Dungeons and Dragon campaign many of my coworkers are playing) Me- Hey, wait a minute. Listen to that. (Pause.) Is that... the Legend of Zelda? On the store's system? OHC (listens)- Yeah, it is. Huh. Me- It's finally happened! Videogame music at work! I tried to get this approved for Pop Culture Days so long ago! (Pause) Oooh, and now the 'Gerudo Valley' portion is kicking in! OHC- You know that?! Me- You seem constantly surprised by my levels of nerdiness. Why? OHC- Go claim it. Me- But my break isn't for ten minutes yet... OHC- Go now. It's slow. Me- Mua ha ha.... Yes, we finally got in a promo CD of videogame music. With cellos. And metal. And I was the first one to claim it, so it's mine when we're done playing it. Oh, there's also 'Chrono Trigger', some 'Warcraft' tavern themes, good old Super Mario, all kinds of good stuff. Finally, something decent!

LOL. One of my game design teachers would give extra credit for being able to identify old game music. Nobody every got anything before N64, and I was the only one to get the really obscure ones (Crystalis for the win). Man I'm an old gamer. Anyway, congrats on getting something good to listen to.

that's great, I love doing stuff with VG music in the background.
Ecco's ost and chrono cross are on the top of my playlist of study music, and when I'm on the nightshift (and there are no patients, of course) I'm usually playing ost's in my cell phone. Cant fall asleep if you are on a Sonic Adventure ost loop over and over and over again The hospital doesnt allow me to play music in the actual practice of course (but I would kill to tell a patient "you dont have XXX!!" and RIGHT THERE PLAY THE FF VICTORY THEME)

(Big surprise, I'm sure. ) I did get to use the FF victory theme at the bank one day. I had an angry customer call and spout off how he had never signed up for automatic withdrawal to pay his loan, nope, certainly not, and was he going to sue the heck out of us. Really? Oh, it's on. So after plenty of digging around in his loan history and finding the original contracts, I found what I was looking for- the automatic withdrawal sheet, with his signature plain as day. While I couldn't play it at the customer, of course, I did play it for my manager as I gleefully faxed him the paperwork. Oh, and we didn't get sued.

hahaha guess it would have been great to play it to the customer... but it is what it is. And I dont know about you but not getting sued after being threatened is what I call ending your work day on a high note, so it's a win win for everyone but him.
