I'm very, very tempted, as the original is one of my favorite gaming systems. (The number one is still the Sega with the CD, 32X, and Genesis all in one.) Our copy of Donkey Kong Country has gone missing, and I haven't played a Mario game other than the party ones on way too long.
The list is impressive, though I do wish it included FF Mystic Quest and Lufia II. Ah, well, I have my own copy of MQ for the original and have played Lufia a few times on an emulator.
I'm curious as to whether it works well and is worth the cash. (Especially since I just bought a car and want to replenish my savings account and am also getting busy on presents for late year birthdays and the holidays coming up.)

No, and I'm not entirely sure I'll get one. I didn't really own any Nintendo hardware until... well, the GBA, I guess, but consolewise the Gamecube. I don't really have any particular gamer memories with the Snes; never much of a Zelda or Mario player, and I'm not sure the console is worth getting for Super Metroid alone.
I also generally don't often like the game selection that people put into those types of consoles, and that includes that Commodore 64 joystick that was for sale some time ago. I'm not actively trying to be a gaming snob, but those generally tend to end up with a few games I like, a few games I am lukewarm towards and some I have no interest in whatsoever. If anything, I'd rather spend money on a console remake that actually allows me to use the cartridges I already own. THEN we'll be talking.
I'm sure it works well, and if you like the games that comes with it, it's probably not considered very expensive either. There are how many games on it? 20++? Pricewise, that's a pretty good deal, I'd say. Especially since I gather they come with HDMI support and lets you adjust a number of screen filters to create whatever retro experience you'd want.

Honestly...it's a waste of money. Emulation is everywhere for SNES, and I read in an article talking about this last week that since emulation is not illegal in the US...why spend the money on something you can download for free?

The emulator is not illegal. Downloading or sharing games you don't own still is. Not that anyone's going to bang down your door for it. That's why you can openly post emulators in public places like Patreon and ask for support (which is the case for the emulator in that article), but you could not go on Patreon to fund a rom hosting service because that would be illegal.
So if you're emulating games you already one, you are 100% legally clear. If you're emulating games you don't own, then you're not. It's a pretty simple line.
That said, I'm always in favor of legal options for older games. Sometimes it's hard to find something because it's old, or you don't have the game system anymore, and the SNES mini is perfect for those kinds of people.

Agreed. I especially like where it says, "I ettertid har den japanske spillgiganten kunngjort en tilsvarende hyllest til Super Nintendo, som tilfeldigvis også slippes i butikkene i dag." I mean, WOW. . . . Yeah, I have no idea what this says. I wouldn't say I'm unimpressed with the game lineup, but it does go into my criteria for picking up a new system. I need 5 games before I pick one up. Considering the games in this are self contained (meaning no additional games can be played on it), I would need more than that. The games that I would actually consider playing on the SNES that are on the classic are: Donkey Kong Country EarthBound Kirby Super Star Mega Man X Street Fighter 2 Turbo: Hyper Fighting Super Castlevania 4 Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts Super Mario World Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island Super Punch-Out!! Of these, I own Super Mario World, Street Fighter 2 Turbo: Hyper Fighting, and Mega Man X. I could then pick up Donkey Kong Country and Super Punch-Out!! on a fairly regular basis from work. This leaves EarthBound, Kirby Super Star, Super Castlevania 4, Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts, and Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island. 5 games. On a system that can't play more than what it's got. Even though the originals can be pricey, I'll stick with my real SNES. Nothing more "classic" than the original. Plus, some of the bundles stores are making people buy to get the system are ridiculous.
