Bought a little something that lets me fasten my smartphone to my car window, and then I filmed a drive around the fjord just to test it out. Then I got a video editing program that lets me speed up said footage to any times its normal speed, in this case 3x, and the results can be seen here. If this sounds like an appealing thing, I can repeat this project on some of our more scenic roads. I noted this underneath the video, but I think the main reason why the video twitches to the side from time to time is the phone's built in video stabilizers. I'm going to try switching that off the next time I do this.

Ooooooh! Beautiful mountains along with the water! Yes, I'd definitely love to see more of these. (And will have to pop over there to see places like that in person, too.) Thanks for sharing the good stuff!

It looks like a lovely drive! I like your scenery so much more than mine (being stuck in concrete Los Angeles).

Here's a more proper project of mine: my (late) grandmother's favorite local roundabout. If some parts of the first video looks familiar, then that is because it's the last half of the video in the first post, except in the opposite direction. And since I made this one for my grandmother... sort of... then it starts and ends in the same place; the nursing home where she was taken care of after her stroke. Well, the last five or six years, at any rate.

I finally got myself a GoPro camera, and with that done, I just had to bring it to one of the most visually stupendous valleys I could drive through, at least in the close vincinity of my home: Norangsdalen. Sadly, Youtube really messes up the video quality on upload, the road in particular being hit with the weird square compression artifact, but the whole screen has this weird heartbeat thing with the same problem. Still, should be worth a watch, right?

I love how much open space there is. It's quite a scenic drive. It's too bad you couldn't get the video quality better.

Yeah. Not for me -- I still have the original files, which I can play on my PC or my Bluray player any time I want to -- but if I want to show anyone on Youtube... well....
