X-mas eve saw Solana working in the library, busily sorting out the various books and packages that had arrived for presents for the other Shriners. All of the ones with dolphin stickers she left alone, as they were intended for her.
Solana smiled as she took a quick sip of warm tea. Her friends were very generous and had picked out some wonderful treasures in the past.
All of a sudden, Aryn came flying in. "Solana, can I borrow your kamas? Please?"
"Is everything all right?" Solana asked curiously, her hands already reaching for the weapons at her waist.
Aryn nodded with a grin. "Peachy! I was reading some manga this morning and I got some great inspiration for training! So, can I please borrow them?"
"Of course," Solana handed them over without argument. She suddenly noticed the pack on her friend's back and recognized the Cross Blade, Mastermune, Staff of Dreams, Shadowedge, Halfmoon, and Eziban's axes sticking out. Her head tilted. "Aryn, what are you doing?"
"No time! Gotta go! Thanks!" Aryn tucked the kamas in her pack and went dashing off.
Solana chuckled and shook her head. This wouldn't be the first time that Aryn had gotten a crazy idea from manga, and wouldn't be the last. She wondered if it would be a good idea to make sure that the infirmary was properly stocked...
Seconds later, Caesar worriedly poked his head in. "Auntie Solana, have you seen Auntie Aryn?" He noticed the empty weapons belt at Solana's waist and grimaced. "Dammit..."
"What's the matter? Aryn came in for my kamas for training, she said. From a manga," Solana said nervously.
"Did she tell you WHICH manga?"
"No..."
Caesar groaned and put his laptop on the desk, open to the newest chapter of 'Food Wars'. "THIS one!"
Solana bent over to skim it. A cooking contest, and the competitor... cooked with weaponry? A chainsaw? A sledgehammer? And a detonator for an oven?
Oh, no...
"We have to stop her," Solana decided quickly. Caesar nodded as they sprinted towards the kitchen, where a distant boom was already echoing...
(Had to do something after reading the update today. Aryn could protect people from fire, but any kitchen she and Sarge battled in would be doomed.)
