Solana and Aryn had just come back to the Shrine after a girls' day out involving lunch and seeing 'Aquaman' and were talking a mile a minute.
Well, Solana was, at any rate. The normally loquacious Aryn was having trouble getting more than a word or two in.
Solana- Ah, that (spoilers) with the (spoilers) and the underwater (spoilers)! Beautiful and amazing! How about that (spoilers) of (spoilers)? Though I'm not sure how well that would work underwater.
Aryn- Maybe I could-
Solana (ignoring)- Eziban! Catch!
Eziban looked up in time to see a huge scroll tied shut thrown at his head. He barely caught it in time.
Eziban- What's this? (Looks at it) Blueprints?
Solana- Additions I want to Estu! Read them carefully, and follow the pictures.
Eziban- That's in the Saga stories-
Solana- Don't care! Ooh, and if you have any bottles of wine that didn't turn out, I want those too! (Spots Kalia). Kalia, be a dear and mail this out for me, okay? Hurry, hurry, it'll take a bit to make a dress and hair ornaments!
Kalia's projectile was smaller, being a mere letter. She stared at the Guardian in puzzlement, as Solana was worse than the time she'd had half a pan of baklava to herself on her last birthday.
Solana- Though the jellyfish were a bit much....Zero!
Zero- What?
Solana- You still have Aquaman's soul from Rune and Negs' birthday party, right?
Zero- Yeah...?
Solana- Battle Board! I've got some new ideas, and not many people can battle underwater! Let's go, let's go!
Solana grabbed the back of Zero's robes and hauled him away, leaving Aryn, Eziban, and Kalia all staring at one another.
Kalia- Did you raid Anon's candy stash for the movie or something?
Eziban- What the hell did she have for lunch, mate tea with thirty-two sugars and five shots of espresso?
Aryn (sighing)- She's been like this since the theater. They threatened to kick her out, and she threatened to flood the theater for realism. By the way, we'll need to find another theater for a year.
Eziban- Noted. (Opens the blueprints, then turns them sideways, then upside down.) How the hell does she expect me to make THIS?
(BTW, Zero, not a challenge, I just thought it would be funny to write Solana dragging someone onto the Battle Board for a change while hyped up on adrenaline.)
It was hard to avoid the 'special place in hell' by talking in the theater, but I tried to keep my reactions limited to huge smiles and tiny squeaks of joy. I did wish for a bit more story, but for what it was, I loved it. Lots of great humor (as in the comics) though Jason Momoa definitely played an edgier Aquaman than I was used to.
I LOVED Atlantis and... other locations, to avoid spoilers. Beautiful, magical, as Atlantis should be. I've heard folk complaining about the CGI, but they were trying something new with the underwater effects. I loved the underwater battles, and the trident ones should come in handy for something down the road. The music also fit the moods to a T. An amazing ride, especially in 3-D, though I did keep raising my arm as if to protect my face from flying projectiles! (Though I was sick as a dog afterwards, but during the movie, SO beautiful!)
I was also very jealous of watching young Arthur and his mentor sitting on underwater rocks, watching sea creatures swim by. Hurry up, science!
