I'm just curious to hear everyone's thoughts about it. In DQIV, I needed to do some major leveling to fight the Marquis, and ended up going to Canalot and buying a new sword and armor for my heroine that I shouldn't have access to yet. In Final Fantasy, I often am grabbing things from the Mirage Tower before finishing Gurgu volcano. And, of course, there's the 'pushing the door' trick in Suikoden II to do some leveling in Matilda before finishing the ruins by the inn outside of Muse.
What do you guys think? Yay or nay? I hate grinding, so like the opportunity to speed things up and also being a bit naughty.

If you can do, do it. I generally won't glitch my way through anything, but if the game allows you to visit a later town for gear earlier than the story actually takes you there I'm all for it. It's not like you didn't work for the money you spent or xp you earned for going someplace early. These are all single player games and a lot of times re-releases will even put in anti-grinding options like double xp/money to make for a better experience by today's standards.
