What do you guys think of 'What If?' stories?

My muse had thrown me a few, such as, "What if Ronfar had gotten sick and become the Red Priest, and Mauri joined your party instead?" Or even, "What if Leo had seen that it was Ghaleon throwing lightning bolts at him before he got hit?"

There were even a few for my ladies, such as "What if I had stayed with the idea of them being a couple?"

The muse took one and decided to run with it. I've been stuck on my next story for my ladies for a while, and it's been fun to do something different.
