We've all seen or heard the crazy or crazy awesome things people do for the love of videogames or anime. I'm curious as to what you guys have heard, seen, or done. -I forget which gaming magazine it was, but a couple celebrated their nuptials with a wedding cake shaped like the well beloved NES controller. -My younger brother showed his love in tattoo form. One of his tattoos is a tweaked version of Althena's sword done as a dagger, but with the same hilt. The artist did a fantastic job on the coiled dragon and getting the blade's distinctive shape just right. Anyone got more?

First anime convention I went to, Anime Punch in Columbus, OH, I cosplayed as Hero from Dragon Quest VIII. Easily the best part? Because the game was so new, everyone like it, despite the fact it was really quite terrible. Seriously, my blue undershirt kept sliding down so far that it showed alot of my chest. Ten people told me how awesome I was. Four girls hugged me. One kissed me on the lips. Good times.

My devotion is found in my playing of the games:
LUNAR:
-Maxed out everybody (Level 99) in Lunar TSS, twice. Maxed out in Lunar EB, once.
-Played through Lunar EB in Japanese when I don't speak a word of the language.
-Played through Lunar Strolling School in Japanese without Kizyr's translation.
-Spent a couple of weeks screwing around with a glitch until it made a Dark Scimitar appear in my inventory. Ahem.
Phantasy Star:
-Got everybody to Level 50 in Phantasy Star II, which takes FOREVER, and I don't even LIKE PSII.
Shining Force:
-Level 99 Max. He is capable of executing two critical attacks which, by themselves, kill Darksol in one turn.

Working Designs Obsession:
I sent Victor Ireland $50 in shipping weight of Working Designs stuff for him to sign, including games, guides, desk cards, and articles that mention WD. Then I bought more from him through ebay.

Well, I guess you could call my... not-so-little collection of VG music (especially by a couple of composers, one of which is the Lunar music composer) a bit of an obsession. But, really, the weirdest thing? Before the last few rounds of trouble in my life, I used to kind of (randomly) sing in public, even in the grocery checkout line. Given my music tastes, most of the songs were in Japanese. Since we used to shop at around the same time every week, we also had the same checker every week. She caught me at the singing and asked me to do more. So, I did. Eventually, though, she had to move on to a different job. Somehow, I heard of when her last day was, so I showed up there... and sang the entire theme of the PS version Lunar in Japanese. She loved it. I still have a hard time believing that I actually did that.

My story goes in reverse. A game was created wherein there was a character with a story identical to my own.
...at least, that's the version of events which I maintain.
Perhaps it goes in reverse, too. My greatest act of "devotion" then would be to model my philosophy off of the best aspects of theirs.

Er, well... where do I begin...
- I learned how to read Japanese initially so I could play Lunar: Strolling School. After that I decided to keep going. - I put together a walkthrough for Lunar: Strolling School (1999), Lunar: Legend (2002), and Magical School Lunar (2008) - I cataloged every major and minor difference in translation between the English and Japanese versions of TSS, SSS, EB, and EBC - I read through all 9 Lunar novels and wrote abridged English versions of each of them - I translated 2 of the Lunar manga - I translated the 15-minute Lunar anime
I could be missing something, but I think that covers much of it. KF
