Alright, took a break from my Star Ocean sprees and working on a Marvel - Ultimate Alliance spree. I've beaten 1 and just rented 2. Gotta say, the differences between the two are pretty damn obvious.
Also, I'm hearing good things about Batman: Arkham Assylum, so I might pick that up next.

I'm playing through the Snow Queen path of Persona, and my opinion of Ayase (formerly known as Alana on the PS1 American release) has gone from annoying airhead to completely egotistical potty mouth. Why she's not overtaken by her own persona like some of the other poor slobs in the game is beyond me. On the whole, though, the dialogue has vastly improved over the original. And I'd almost forgotten all those little goodies like hitting the demons up for cards, items, or just scaring the stuffing out of them (especially when they're several times your size/level). ;D On another interesting note, I noticed that some of the available personae that carry on to later games do not bear the same tarot affiliation. I wonder if that was due to making some effort at spreading the better ones around so that they weren't all stacked under the same heading.

Still on Sacred 2, whose escort-type missions are making me want to tear my hair out. (Mostly because, like most games, the AI controlling the easily killed partner is often being retarded. AND in Sacred 2, when you fail a quest, you don't get the chance to redo it. Fuckups are permanent for that one.)

I just got finished with Marvel Ultimate Alliance both 1 and 2. A leveled Dr. Strange in 1 is a major powerhouse. Deadpool in either game is just freaking cool.

I'm playing "Summoner" now, which I haven't played for about seven years. It's one of the original RPGs that launched with the Playstation 2, and while it has it's problems, the extremely dense and interesting plot more than makes up for them.
It is in many ways superior to the more polished sequel "Summoner 2", which deviated away from a lot of what made the original good in my view.
For example, in the original game, when you equip armor, you actually see that armor on your character. This in some ways minor and insignificant detail is rarely seen in RPGs, but that's probably what makes it seem so cool. When you arm your characters, you actually see that armor on them down to the smallest detail, including gloves and boots. Summoner 2, however, did away with this, instead opting for palette swaps to indicate different suits of armor. Lame. I want to be able to put on a chain mail shirt and see that chain mail shirt on my character!
The character design department was apparently taken over by 12 year old boys when it came to Summoner 2, as well. While the female characters in the original game had slender but feminine bodies, the female characters in Summoner 2 are, well, let's just say they're curvy to the point that it's absurd. And that includes a fish-woman and a ANDROID woman. What the heck???

Rented a copy of Batman: Arkham Assylum.
Awesome.
Short IMO, but awesome.
Mark Hamill should voice in more series. Seriously.

Quake 4 proved to be more fun than I expected, although part of the credit for me buying it should probably go to Static Fiend's Let's Play of the same.
I bought it used too, and whoever owned it before I did either didn't like it at all, or they're people who know how to treat their game discs well, which is also nice.

I'm now playing A Witch's Tale for the DS. Progress-wise, I've beaten the first land and am about halfway through the second. And... talk about twisted fairy tales. You could swear that the lead character, Liddell, is channeling Etna some of the time when her personality/motivations come into play. Which isn't really that bad a thing (good ol' Nippon Ichi fun). ;D A few minor criticisms: Oh, stylus, you evil device. Having the game depend entirely on it even for advancing conversation prompts is a bit of an overkill. My dominant hand started cramping up holding it, so I switched it over to the other hand for a while and almost broke my brain trying to push objects around in the Grapejuice River area. I'm pretty sure that the initial puppet's name got mistranslated. It reads Dayna, but it's supposed to be Dinah... or so I gather from the numerous fairy tale character names. Hansel, Gretel, Baba Yaga, the Nutcracker, Alice, etc. Dinah, being Alice's black cat. And yes, the puppet is a black cat. Hansel is... get ready for it... a girl. Pfft. Funny how this isn't the first time I've seen characters mysteriously of the wrong gender in games before (I'm looking at you, Valkyrie Profile). All in all, though, the game seems to be turning out fairly decent. Although, I wouldn't want to take the God of Candy to Gretel's domain. He might devour it whole since, well, the entire realm seems to be made of candy.

I have been wondering about this Brutal Legend. Wondering if this heavy-metal fantasy starring Jack Black is worth at east a rental.
Anyone have any ideas?

^ Well... that's pretty asshole-ish. He's a music guy and dislikes what Black represents and does. So since the game is heavy on Black and obviously his music, he has no desire to play it. He doesn't have a PS3 anyways, so it's mute.

It's also for 360. That's why I was asking. Wonder if anyone else has an opinion...
